Maptinerary is a local-first travel organiser. Your itinerary is kept on your device, and we do not sell personal information or use advertising trackers.

Information kept on your device

Maptinerary stores the information you add to the app locally, including trip names, dates, places, addresses, coordinates, notes, day plans, route order, visited/skipped status, map preferences and app settings. Maptinerary does not require an account and does not upload this itinerary content to a Maptinerary server.

If you export a trip or diagnostic file, you choose where to send or save it. That action is handled by your device's sharing tools and the service you select.

Photos, screenshots and text recognition

You can choose a screenshot or photo for text recognition. Maptinerary uses the operating system's picker, so it only receives the item you select.

• On iPhone and iPad: recognition uses Apple's Vision framework on the device.
• On Android: recognition uses the bundled Google ML Kit Korean Text Recognition model on the device. Google states that the image and recognised text are not sent to Google. The ML Kit SDK does send limited diagnostic and usage metrics, including device and app information, a per-install identifier, performance metrics, API configuration, input/output sizes, feature version, event type and error codes. Google says this information is encrypted in transit and not shared with third parties.

Map searches and links

When you choose to search for or open a destination, Maptinerary sends the relevant name, address, coordinates or route endpoints to the map provider you selected—for example Naver Map, KakaoMap, Google Maps, Apple Maps or Waze. This is necessary to fulfil the action you requested. The provider handles that information under its own privacy policy. Maptinerary does not retain a server-side copy of those map requests.

Website and support

Our website is delivered using Cloudflare. Like most hosting providers, Cloudflare may process technical request information such as an IP address, browser details and security signals to deliver and protect the site.

If you email support, we receive the email address, message and attachments you choose to provide. We use them to answer you and troubleshoot the issue. Please do not include sensitive personal information in a support request or diagnostic export.

Analytics, access codes and payments

The current external-beta builds do not have a Maptinerary analytics endpoint or access-code service configured, and paid features are disabled. If a later version enables optional analytics, access management or purchasing, we will update this policy and the relevant app-store privacy declarations before that version is released.

How information is used and disclosed

We use information only to provide the feature you requested, maintain security, diagnose problems, answer support requests and meet legal obligations. We do not sell personal information. We do not use trip content for advertising, and we do not share it with data brokers.

We may disclose information when required by law, to protect users or the service, or to service providers acting on our behalf under appropriate restrictions.

Retention and deletion

Local trip data remains on your device until you delete it in Maptinerary, clear the app's data, or uninstall the app. Files you exported remain wherever you chose to save them. Support emails are retained only as long as reasonably needed to resolve the request and meet legal or security obligations.

You can use Settings → Clear all trip data to delete a trip. You can also remove all local app data through the operating system. For a privacy or deletion request relating to information you sent us directly, email [email protected].

Children

Maptinerary is a general travel utility intended for adults and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

International processing

External map providers, Google ML Kit, Cloudflare, Apple, Google and any service you choose through the system share sheet may process information in countries other than your own. Their handling is governed by their own terms and privacy policies.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when the app, its providers or legal requirements change. The effective date above will show the latest revision. Material changes will be communicated through an appropriate channel before they take effect where required.
