Terms of Service

Effective 31 October 2026

These terms are the agreement between you and Millibear (ABN 27 941 828 073), the Australian sole trader behind Maptinerary. By installing or using Maptinerary you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the app. See also our Privacy Policy.

What Maptinerary is

Maptinerary is a travel organiser. You save places, plan days and routes, and open them in a map app of your choice. Planning is free. Your trips are stored on your device, and you can export them at any time.

Check before you rely on it. Place matches, coordinates, opening details and travel times can be wrong or out of date, especially for names written in more than one language. Maptinerary asks you to confirm places for this reason. Always check a place, route and opening hours in your map app before you travel, and follow local laws and road rules. We are not responsible for map, transport or venue information supplied by third-party services.

Free during launch

While Maptinerary is launching, the whole app is free: saving places, importing plans, building days and routes, opening places in a map app, and exporting your trips. We will give you at least 30 days’ notice in the app before any charge is introduced. Planning your trip is intended to stay free.

A possible future pass

We may later offer an optional pass that removes a monthly limit on opening places and routes in a map app. If we do, we will tell you the price (in your own currency, including any tax the store adds), what it covers and how long it lasts before you can buy it, and these terms will be updated first. Any purchase would be made through Apple or Google under their terms; we would never see your card details. Your trips and data would not be deleted or locked if you chose not to buy.

Refunds

Nothing is sold while Maptinerary is free. If we later offer a paid pass, refunds would be requested from Apple or Google, who take the payment, and we would support a refund where the pass doesn’t work as described and we can’t fix it, or where you were charged by mistake. Nothing in these terms limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law: our services come with guarantees that can’t be excluded, including that they will be of acceptable quality and fit for the purpose we describe, and if you are entitled to a refund or replacement under those guarantees, these terms don’t stop you getting it.

Access codes

From time to time we issue access codes (for example for founding users or promotions) that give access to features that may be limited in future. A code can be redeemed once per install, has no cash value, can't be sold or transferred, and may stop working after its expiry date or once its redemption limit is reached. We may refuse or end access obtained by misusing a code. Nothing you saved is ever deleted when a code ends.

Your content

The trips, places and notes you add are yours. We don't claim any rights over them and, as explained in the Privacy Policy, they stay on your device. You are responsible for backing them up with the export feature. Some place names in the app come from OpenStreetMap contributors and are used under the Open Database Licence.

Acceptable use

Please don't misuse the app or our services: don't try to break, overload or reverse-engineer them, bypass any usage limit we introduce, or use them to break the law.

Third-party services

Maptinerary hands off to map apps and uses services from Apple, Google and others. Their own terms and privacy policies apply to what you do in them, and we aren't responsible for them or for being unable to reach them.

Limits on our responsibility

The app is provided as is, and we don't promise it will always be available or error-free. To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss caused by relying on place, route or travel information without checking it. Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any right or remedy you have under the Australian Consumer Law or any other law that can't be excluded. Where a law lets us limit our liability for a breach of a consumer guarantee, we limit it to resupplying the service or paying the cost of having it resupplied.

Changes and ending

We may update these terms or the app and will change the effective date above when we do. If a change is significant we will tell you in the app or on this page before it applies. You can stop using Maptinerary at any time by deleting the app. We may suspend access that breaks these terms.

Governing law and contact

These terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia, and the courts of that State have non-exclusive jurisdiction. Questions about these terms: [email protected]. Millibear, ABN 27 941 828 073.
